How much do movers cost in Houston?
At Blue Ox, a 2-mover crew with a truck is $150 an hour, 3 movers are $225 an hour and 4 movers are $300 an hour. Every move has a 3-hour minimum plus a 1-hour trip charge. A 1-bedroom apartment usually runs $600 to $750; a 4-bedroom house usually runs $2,700 to $3,300.

Do you charge by the hour or a flat rate?
Local moves are billed by the hour. The clock covers loading, driving between homes and unloading. Long-distance moves are quoted separately, not by the hour, so ask a moving consultant for a long-distance quote.
Is the rate per mover or for the whole crew?
The rate is for the whole crew and the truck together. You don't pay a separate truck fee or a per-mover charge on top. The only fixed add-on is a 1-hour trip charge.
Is there a travel fee or gas charge?
Every local Houston move has a 1-hour trip charge at your crew's hourly rate. It covers getting the crew and truck to you and back. There's no separate gas or fuel charge.
What does a 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-bedroom move cost?

What Makes a Move Cost More?
Time is the price, so anything that adds time adds cost:
- More furniture and boxes than a typical home that size
- Stairs, or a long walk from the door to the truck
- High-rise elevator waits and building move-in windows
- Beds and furniture that need to be taken apart and put back together
- Pianos, safes and long stair carries, which have additional charges
- Packing on moving day instead of before
How much does packing cost?
Packing labor is $159 an hour, and boxes and materials are billed separately. You can have us pack everything, just the kitchen, or only the fragile items. See our packing services.
How much does storage cost between homes?
Storage is $60 to $75 per vault per month. Stays over 3 months get the lower rate, and there's no minimum stay. Pickup and delivery are billed at our regular hourly moving rates. See moving and storage in Houston.
Is there a cheaper day to move?
From May through August, moves on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday are $15 an hour less. The rest of the year, the rate is the same every day.
Do I need a deposit to book?
A $100 deposit books your move. If your plans change, cancel at least 72 hours before your move date and we refund the deposit.
