However, you may not store chemicals like chlorine and paint or combustibles like gasoline and ammunition. You should also keep medications, jewelry, cash, blank checks, and other essential documents with you and not in your storage unit.

We offer vault storage services rather than self-storage units. This ensures that you only use the amount of storage that you need. The storage units measure 7'x5'x7'. Our specialists will help determine how many you need.

Blue Ox Moving & Storage offers short- and long-term storage for any situation. Our Houston facility is climate-controlled and alarmed, with a security guard patrolling day and night. Unlike a public self-storage lot, it is closed to walk-in traffic. Only Blue Ox staff can reach the vault area, and a visit happens by appointment rather than a drive-up gate code.

How Much Does Storage Cost in Houston

Storage pricing in Houston usually depends on unit size, and national self-storage chains publish a flat monthly rate for each size. Blue Ox works differently. We do not rent fixed unit sizes, so we cannot publish a flat rate here.

How Full-Service Moving & Storage Services Works

Your furniture and belongings are inventoried and listed on an inventory sheet describing each item and its condition at pickup. Then, your furniture is wrapped in heavy furniture pads, carefully placed into large vaults, and forklifted into our warehouse, where it waits until you call for it, whether it’s weeks, months, or years later.

We wrap sofas in soft, clean cloth furniture pads and then further protect them with plastic stretch wrap. They are then placed on large shelves to ensure they stay clean and have no pressure dents or tears when removed from storage. Oversized items that do not fit into the vaults are also pad-wrapped and placed in a designated aisle in the warehouse.

Renovations

If your new home is undergoing renovations, our Houston storage facility can serve as a temporary place to store your furnishings and other items while your new home is undergoing construction.

Downsizing

Going from a large family home to a smaller home after your kids move out can be stressful. Between paring down furniture, donations, and garage sales, many of our clients still find themselves with items they aren’t ready to part with yet but need to store them safely.
